How to Design a Book Cover, Part One
Including my design philosophy, key techniques, how to set up a simple template – and the crime of the century?
This new series of posts (part of the larger “How to publish” series) is aimed at three types of people:
Those who are new to cover design, and want to learn the basics, fast.
Experienced designers who want to compare their workflow to mine (in case they can steal a few tricks!)
People with no intention of ever designing a cover, who are nonetheless intrigued by how the process actually happens. (Also known as “the nosy”.)
If you fall into one of those categories, let’s get straight down to business! Otherwise, I shall see you in a few days’ time, for something completely different.
